US diplomat says the United Nations and donor countries together will assess the effectiveness of assistance to Afghanistan.
In a post on X, Chargé d’Affaires Karen Decker wrote: “With UN agencies and donors to review assistance in Afghanistan. Transparency and oversight key focus.”
She said: “Afghan women are difference-makers, defenders, drivers of change. Appreciate @IndrikaRatwatte’s joined-up approach!”
The US and the international community every week provides Afghanistan with a $40 aid package.
Last month, the US said it had provided around $2 billion in aid to Afghanistan since the fall of the previous government.
