While Afghan women inside the country continue to face ongoing restrictions, bans, and social barriers, stories of their achievements, progress, and political participation abroad are increasing day by day. Some Afghan women are now stepping beyond education and social activities and entering the political arena in various countries around the world, seeking to participate at decision-making levels.
Among them is Sanga Siddiqi, who has turned to politics and social service in the Netherlands and is running as a candidate for the municipal council.
In this interview, we speak with Sanga Siddiqi about her political efforts and activities, as well as the situation of women’s rights, existing restrictions, and future hopes for women in Afghanistan.
