Pakistan’s airstrikes on Afghanistan have intensified, and Afghanistan has also carried out drone strikes on various Pakistani cities, including Islamabad, Nowshera and Abbottabad; such attacks are described as unprecedented. The question is how Afghanistan managed to retaliate inside Pakistan.
Many ordinary Afghans have condemned Pakistan’s attacks and expressed support for defending their country; however, some former politicians have taken a softer stance and blamed the Taliban.
Shah Mahmood Miakhel, former First Deputy and Acting Minister of Defense, while strongly opposing Pakistan’s strikes, says Afghanistan holds the upper hand and that the Taliban possess broad tools and leverage to pressure Pakistan, which could be used in a long-term conflict with Islamabad.
