Mahmood Saeed is among those Afghans who, with a vision to uplift the Afghan community, has emerged as a significant figure for support and leadership within the Afghan diaspora in Germany. Alongside focusing on the growth and progress of himself and his family, he also strives to address the challenges faced by Afghans living in Germany and works to help solve their issues to the best of his ability.
Mahmood studied at the Polytechnic University in Kabul, majoring in engineering. After graduation, he began working in the practical field with international humanitarian organizations, contributing to Afghanistan’s development efforts. Since 2014, he has been residing in Germany; initially, he attended language courses and later joined the information platform “Handbook Germany” for migrants. Mahmood is responsible for the Pashto language section on this platform, where he aims to provide essential information about life, work, and responsibilities in Germany in a simple and understandable language for Afghan migrants. He prepares videos and audio content in Pashto, which effectively offer vital guidance for newly arrived Afghans in Germany in their native language.
He established the Afghan Coordination Center in Berlin, which supports Afghans in voicing their concerns, finding solutions, and strengthening their cultural ties. Under Mahmood’s leadership, this center celebrates specific Afghan cultural and national days, such as International Mother Language Day, Independence Day, Eid festivals, and other significant occasions. These celebrations not only serve to preserve and strengthen cultural and national identity but also aim to bring the Afghan diaspora together on a shared platform.
In addition, Mahmood Saeed has launched a magazine for the Afghan diaspora, which has been published several times in Germany and remains active. This magazine not only provides vital information for the diaspora but also serves as a platform for Afghans to share their thoughts, opinions, and emotions with others.
