The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has urged its member states to redouble efforts to mobilize the responsibility of the international community towards stopping the aggression and genocide against Palestinian people in Gaza.
The 57-member bloc held the 15th OIC Islamic Summit Conference that commenced in Gambia’s capital Banjul, under the theme: ‘Enhancing Unity and Solidarity through Dialogue for Sustainable Development’.
The summit comes amid dangerous and unprecedented developments taking place in Palestine, especially the brutal Israeli military aggression against the Palestinian people, especially in the Gaza Strip.
Addressing the summit, OIC Secretary-General Hissein Ibrahim Taha urged member states to redouble efforts to mobilize responsibility of international community towards stopping the aggression and genocide against Palestinian people.
He also called on the OIC Member States to continue to mobilize international support for the recognition of the State of Palestine and help it attain full membership in the United Nations. He emphasized the Palestinian cause remained OIC’s central issue
