An Afghan swimmer finished second in swimming contests hosted by the Philippines, the Afghan Olympic Committee said on Wednesday.
The Philippine Aquatics, Inc. is holding the 11th Asian Age Group Championships that started February 26 and will continue till March 9 at the New Clark City Aquatics Center in Capas City, Tarlac.
The National Olympic Committee wrote on its X handle that Afghan swimmer Erfan Ali secured seventh and second positions in two different styles of swimming contests at the 11th Asian Age Group Swimming Championships
The Olympic Committee said: “Erfan Ali won second position by completing the 50-metre breaststroke style swimming race in 34.85 seconds. He also secured seventh position in freestyle swimming in 27.65 seconds.”
The Afghan swimmer will participate in butterfly style swimming race of the same distance tomorrow (Thursday).
