Unidentified gunmen shot dead six barbers in northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province’s Mir Ali area.
No one immediately claimed responsibility for the killings in Mir Ali, a town in the restive Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, said Jamal Khan, local police chief, according to AP.
The slain individuals belonged to Punjab province and they worked as barbers in Mir Ali. Their bodies were found in fields in Musakai area.
Mir Ali served as a base for the Pakistani Taliban —known as Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan, or TTP — for years until the military cleared the area of insurgents.
The barbers were killed three days after five insurgents were killed during an intelligence-based operation in Mir Ali.
