Russian President Vladimir Putin will visit China from May 19 to 20 for talks with his Chinese counterpart, Xi Jinping, the Kremlin announced on Saturday.
International media, citing a Kremlin statement, reported that the visit will take place at the invitation of Xi Jinping.
The Kremlin said the trip coincides with the 25th anniversary of the Treaty of Good-Neighbourliness, Friendship and Cooperation between Russia and China.
According to the statement, Putin and Xi are expected to discuss bilateral relations, the expansion of cooperation, as well as major regional and international issues.
Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump also visited China last week.
The Treaty of Good-Neighbourliness, Friendship and Cooperation was signed in 2001 by former Chinese President Jiang Zemin and Vladimir Putin, committing the two countries to long-term strategic cooperation and formalising collaboration in several economic sectors.
