Afghan cultural and literary figures in Canada gathered to commemorate the late renowned poet and writer, Matiullah Turab.
The event was hosted by “Afghan Social Services,” featuring in-depth discussions on Turab’s literary path, poetic rebellion, and cultural legacy.
Participants described his poetry as a grand epic of awakening and said that Turab was a translator of his people’s pain.
The ceremony concluded with elegies in his memory, deepening the atmosphere of sorrow, remembrance, and respect.
