Afghans living in Toronto, Canada, held a peaceful protest against Pakistan’s forced deportation of Afghan refugees.
The protest, which included members of various Afghan communities, civil society activists, and the Canada chapter of the Pashtun Tahafuz Movement (PTM), was a demonstration against violations of international human rights standards.
Protesters called on international human rights organizations, the United Nations, and global institutions to condemn and intervene in Pakistan’s unlawful deportation campaign, and to listen to the voices of thousands of vulnerable Afghan refugees.
They stressed that such actions not only violate international law but also endanger the lives of individuals who fled to Pakistan seeking safety from war, violence, and instability.
At the same time, PTM Canada representatives raised their voices against the ongoing oppression, enforced disappearances, and unlawful detentions of Pashtuns by the Pakistani state. Protesters demanded the immediate release of Pashtun nationalist leaders, specifically mentioning Ali Wazir, Haji Samad, and Malik Naseer.
The full video coverage of the protest is available on the Wesal TV YouTube channel.
