The World Health Organisation (WHO) on Tuesday signed an agreement worth 500 million dollars with the King Salman Foundation of Saudi Arabia to combat polio virus.
On his X platform, WHO’s Director- General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus wrote: “The $500 million commitment by @KSRelief_EN to #EndPolio will be immediately disbursed to the Global Polio Eradication Initiative to help vaccinate children in Pakistan and Afghanistan”.
On Monday, a three-day polio vaccination drive was launched in 16 provinces of the country, targeting around 6.3 million children.
