Save the Children says 4.9 million children die every year form preventable disease across the country.
The British charity wrote on X: “A shocking 4.9m children die every year from preventable diseases …”
It noted climate change, conflicts and global health emergencies were threatening child survival across the world.
“It’s time for action, not words,” it said, stressing every child deserved to live beyond five.
The organisation expresses its concern at a time when millions of children in many war-torn and crisis-affected areas are exposed to serious risks, including violence, malnutrition and lack of access to health and educational services.
