In this episode of “Successful Figures,” Khalil Yousefi, an Afghan filmmaker and artist, along with Miwand Azizi, his partner in the “Moon Event” wedding hall in Germany, are our guests.
Khalil Yousefi, a well-known Afghan writer, filmmaker, and artist, was born in Herat, Afghanistan. He has been living in Germany for over ten years. He graduated from the Faculty of Arts at Kabul University with a degree in music.
In his first year in Germany, while learning the German language up to B2 level, Khalil wrote a book based on the memoirs of Professor Madadi, which was published as a novel. This work was well-received by many writers.
Khalil produced a famous film titled “Journey to Europe” in Greece, which was screened in Hamburg, Germany, in 2016 and won a UNESCO award. In addition to this film, he has produced and published five TV series, including “A Traveler from Kabul” and “Tabassum and Durina.”
Alongside his artistic endeavors, Khalil, in partnership with Miwand Azizi, opened a large wedding hall named “Moon Event” in Hamburg, Germany. The venue, which has a capacity of approximately 500 people, was built at a cost of around one million euros.
Through the establishment of this large wedding hall, Khalil and Azizi have created employment opportunities, both directly and indirectly, for around 100 people, including both Afghans and non-Afghans.
