Afghans in Toronto, Canada, along with members of the Pashtun Tahafuz Movement, organized a protest in response to the reported killing of dozens of Afghan refugees by Iranian border guards and the ongoing oppression of Pashtuns in Pakistan.
Just days ago, Iranian border forces reportedly opened fire on Afghan refugees attempting to cross into Iran, resulting in the deaths of approximately 260 individuals.
In light of this tragic event and the continuous oppression of Pashtuns by the Pakistani government, dozens of Afghans gathered in Toronto on Sunday, chanting slogans against Iran.
The protesters called on international organizations and human rights groups to take action against these heinous acts and hold Iran accountable for this brutal assault.
They also condemned the ongoing human rights violations faced by Pashtuns at the hands of Pakistani security forces in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Participants urged international bodies to take measures to protect the rights of Pashtuns in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and to thoroughly investigate the atrocities committed against both Afghans and Pashtuns.
Additionally, the protesters expressed support for the recent decisions made by the Pashtun tribal justice assembly, emphasizing their readiness to make any sacrifices necessary to safeguard their rights and to continue their efforts in this regard.
They insisted that relevant organizations take action on these pressing issues.
