In this episode of our program, we feature Rahimullah Samandar, a distinguished Afghan engineer currently residing in Germany.
Hailing from Jaghato district in Maidan Wardak province, Samandar completed his primary education at his native area and his secondary education at Mahmood Hotaki High School in Kabul.
He pursued a bachelor’s degree in engineering in India and earned a master’s degree from University of Siena, Italy and Technical University of Darmstadt
Samandar’s academic journey took him across Europe through the Erasmus program, studying in Italy, Poland, and Germany, and defending his thesis in Italy in 2024.
His research and travels garnered attention from Italian and international media. Despite facing economic challenges, he managed 33 academic tours, met with Afghan communities in Europe, and worked to change perceptions about Afghanistan and Afghans abroad.
Achieving top marks in “Technology and Innovation Management” in Germany and “Strategy” in Italy, Samandar set records for Afghanistan. He has taught at Afghan universities, worked with ATRA, and served as a consultant for international students in Italy.
Active in international conferences, he is committed to advancing his country’s development and aspires for Afghanistan to compete with the world’s leading nations.
