Members of the Pashtun Tahafuz Movement in Canada, along with a number of Afghan residents of Toronto, attended a commemoration marking the death anniversaries of Gilaman Wazir and Maulana Khanzeb.

Participants paid tribute to the memory and sacrifices of the two activists, saying they had struggled for the freedom of their homeland, unity between Pashtuns on both sides of the Durand Line, justice, peace and human dignity, and had lost their lives in pursuit of those goals.

Speakers at the event discussed the struggles, ideas and activities of Gilaman Wazir and Maulana Khanzeb, while participants offered prayers for their souls. They also stressed that the two activists’ message of justice, unity and the pursuit of rights would be kept alive.
