Afghan mixed martial artist Farid Basharat maintained his unbeaten record with a unanimous decision victory over American fighter John Garza at UFC 329 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The bantamweight bout took place on Saturday night at T-Mobile Arena, where Basharat delivered a composed performance to earn the judges’ verdict with scorecards of 30-27, 29-28 and 29-28.

Garza stepped in as a late replacement after Basharat’s original opponent, Ethyn Ewing, withdrew due to injury. The fight marked Garza’s UFC debut.

The victory improved Basharat’s professional record to 16-0 and extended his undefeated UFC record to 7-0.

Basharat, who earned his UFC contract through Dana White’s Contender Series in 2022, has continued to establish himself as one of the promotion’s rising bantamweight contenders.
