At least six people were killed and 22 others injured when a bomb exploded inside a café in the Syrian capital, Damascus, according to media reports.

The BBC reported that Syria’s Interior Ministry said the explosive device had been planted inside a café in the Hijaz district, about 100 meters from the Palace of Justice.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack so far, the report added.

The blast was the deadliest attack in Damascus since a suicide bombing at a church in June 2025 that killed 25 people.
