Fewer than two percent of migrants from certain countries, including Afghanistan, were deported from the United Kingdom last year, according to reports.
The Telegraph reported that the migrants in question were from 14 countries, including Afghanistan.
More than 40,000 asylum applications were filed with the UK Home Office during the period, but only 285 individuals were deported.
The report noted: “Afghanistan is among the countries where fewer than one in 50 applicants were deported.”
It added: “Only 123 Afghan asylum seekers were deported last year out of 6,462 applicants, representing a return rate of 1.9 percent.”
