At least 27 Nigerian soldiers have been killed in a suicide attack in the northeast of the country, a media report said on Monday.
The attack also killed an officer from the Ministry of Defence and left several others injured, The Economic Times reported.
“The suicide attack killed 27 soldiers, including their commander, and left several others seriously injured,” a military officer said,.
He said the death toll could rise as some of the wounded were in a “critical condition”.
Nigerian security officials described the incident as one of the deadliest suicide attacks targeting soldiers in recent years.
