Amid heightened tensions in the Middle East, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has arrived in Damascus, the capital of Syria.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei wrote his X handle: “FM Araghchi and the delegation accompanying him arrived in Damascus for an official visit on Saturday morning.”
He said Arachchi would meet high-level Syrian officials for consultations on bilateral relations and regional developments.
On Friday, Araghchi visited Beirut to affirm Iran’s support for Lebanon amid ongoing Israeli attacks.
