At least 11 people have been killed and dozens wounded by heavy rains in different parts of Pakistan, a media report said on Monday.
Flash floods triggered by the heavy rains damaged houses and crops besides washing away roads and bridges in different areas.
In addition, the roofs and boundary walls of several houses also collapsed, the News International reported, citing local officials.
It said at least10 people were injured in rain-related incidents in different parts of southwestern Balochistan province.
According to the report, many bridges in Balochistan have been washed away by the floods. Hundreds of vehicles are also stranded due to road closures.
In response, the newspaper said, flood control rooms had been established by district administrations throughout the province.
on Sunday, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) and Punjab Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) had issued a warning of ntense rainfall over the next 48 hours, raising concerns about potential urban flooding.
NDMA directed all relevant departments to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions.
According to the advisory, there is a significant risk of urban flooding in Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Kasur and Sialkot.
