Afghanistan and India are all set to square off in their first super eight match of ICC Men’s T20 World Cup today (Thursday) at the Kensington Oval in Barbados.
Today’s match is scheduled to commence at 7:00pm Afghanistan time, the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) wrote on its Facebook page.
Afghanistan demonstrated strong form early in the tournament, with victories over Uganda, New Zealand, and Papua New Guinea in Group C.
However, they faced a setback in their final group match, defeated by the co-hosts West Indies by 104 runs.
The Rashid Khan-led side has been in good form. Rahmanullah Gurbaz (167 runs) and Fazalhaq Farooqi (12 wickets) are the leading run-scorer and wicket-taker of the tournament, respectively.
India secured victories over Ireland, Pakistan and the United States in Group A, while their final match against Canada was called off due to rain.
