At least 10 people have been killed and 33 others injured in an attack on a bus carrying worshipers in India-governed Jammu and Kashmir, says a media report.
The incident happened on Sunday when armed assailants opened fire on the vehicle that was returning from a shrine in Reasi to Katra, police were quoted as saying by India Today.
According to survivors, the assailants continued to fire at the vehicle despite its fall into a gorge and the passengers stayed silent to pretend they were all dead.
“They were 6–7 terrorists, their faces were covered with masks. Initially, they fired on the bus from all sides. When the bus fell, they came towards it and kept firing to ensure everyone was killed,” one eyewitness said.
