The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) has unveiled fixtures for upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, to be jointly hosted by the West Indies and the US.
The short-format event is scheduled to commence on the first of June, 2024. Afghanistan are placed in Group C along with New Zealand, New Papua Guinea, Uganda and co-hosts the West Indies.
ACB wrote on its Facebook page Afghanistan would play a couple of warm-up matches against Oman on May 29 and Scotland on May 31 before going into the mega event.
The national squad will begin their World Cup campaign against Uganda on June 5 at the Providence Stadium before taking on New Zealand on June 8 at the same venue.
The Rashid Khan-led side will play their third match against Papua New Guinea on June 14 at the Providence Stadium and on the co-hosts West Indies on June 18 at the Daren Sammy Stadium.
Earlier, ACB had named a 15-member squad led by Rashid Khan for the upcoming T20 World Cup. The team is attending a 10-day training camp in the Caribbean.
