At least 12 undocumented Afghans have been released from jail in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, says the Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation (MoRR).
In a post on X, the ministry wrote: “According to the information from the border department in Torkham of Nangarhar province, these individuals had been arrested for lacking valid documents. They were released and handed over to Afghan authorities.”
The returning persons will be introduced to the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and UNHCR to receive necessary assistance and reunite with their families.
