The Iranian government has executed four Afghan refugees, including two brothers, over drug trafficking charge in the Vakilabad prison of Mashhad, says a human rights group.
Halvsh identified the individuals as Zaman Taheri, Salam Taheri , Ghulam Qadir Samani and Ibrahim Noorzai.
Zaman Taheri and Salam Taheri were brothers. The refugees, arrested in 2019, had been sentenced to death by Iran’s Revolutionary Court.
The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan has not yet commented on the execution of the Afghan nationals.
