Fighting between Afghan and Pakistani forces in the Dand-i-Patan district of Paktia province is ongoing, an official said on Monday.
The movement of travellers and vehicles has also been halted across the Kharlachi crossing because of the fighting.
An official in Dand Patan Commissariat confirmed the ongoing clash between Afghan and Pakistani security forces.
The Kharlachi crossing also been closed for the movement of people, he said, adding the fighting was ongoing since morning.
Some local residents also verified the clash and said they had heard sounds of light and heavy weapons.
Earlier, IEA spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid, said Pakistani forces bombed civilian houses in Lamana and Afghan-Dubai areas of Barmal and Spera districts of Paktika and Khost provinces at around 3:00 am.
