Canada has evacuated nearly 320 more Afghan nationals from Pakistan to Halifax, the Immigration, Refugees, Citizenship Canada (IRCC) said on Tuesday.
IRCC wrote on its X handle: “Today (Monday), 319 Afghan nationals arrived in Vancouver on a charter flight from Pakistan.”
They will continue their journey to approximately 26 communities across Canada, including Ottawa, Surrey and Toronto.”
According to IRCC, Canada has met its goal of welcoming at least 40,000 refugees and vulnerable Afghans since August 2021, and work continues to process eligible applications already received.
IRCC confirmed 319 Afghan refugees had reached Toronto on a charter flight from Pakistan on Monday.
