In the 2025 federal election, Afghan-Canadians not only cast their votes but also sent a strong message of civic engagement, responsibility, and identity.
According to the results, the Liberal Party won 169 out of 343 electoral ridings and is set to form a minority government.
From cities like Ajax, Pickering, Toronto, Mississauga, and other densely populated areas, Afghans participated in unprecedented numbers, exercised their right to vote, and shared their experiences with Wesal TV.
This video amplifies the voices of those who say:
- We live here, we work here, we pay taxes – so we must also have a role in decision-making.
- We voted for candidates who support women, immigrants, and social justice.
- We voted for change.
- We are part of Canada’s democracy too!
