After more than four years in power, the Taliban have introduced a criminal procedure code for the courts. Despite criticism from various experts and religious scholars, the Taliban consider any criticism or disagreement with this code as opposition to Sharia.
Abdul Bari Jahani, a writer, researcher, and former Minister of Information and Culture of Afghanistan, who has recently been conducting research on religious issues, says the code contradicts the Quran and Sharia in many aspects.
He stresses that implementing this code will increase social problems.
