In this episode of “Successful Figures,” Mohammad Hashimi, the owner of the “Herat Darbar” restaurant in Berlin, the capital of Germany, joins us as a guest.
Hashimi migrated to Germany with his family in 2015. Within less than a year, he mastered the German language up to a B2 level.
Like many other Afghan migrants, Hashimi initially faced many challenges. To support his new life, he began working as a food delivery driver, offering home delivery services to customers in Berlin for an extended period.
After years of working as an employee, Hashimi, along with his three brothers, decided to start their own business. This led to the creation of “Herat Darbar,” an Afghan restaurant in one of Berlin’s busiest districts, right in the heart of Germany.
Together with his two brothers, Mehdi and Hadi, Hashimi prepares and serves Afghan and Iranian dishes daily for Afghan, Iranian, German, and Arab customers at the restaurant.
Through their entrepreneurial venture, the three brothers have also provided job opportunities for over 10 individuals, both Afghan and non-Afghan.
