Press Release
July 17, 2023
The administration and volunteers of the Pen Path Foundation are concerned about the continuing imprisonment of Matiullah Wasa, President/Founder of the foundation.
Wesa has been detained for 114 days without any just cause.
Afghan tribal leaders, scholars, people, and followers of Wesa have repeatedly asked about his unlawful detainment?
There is no clarity about his case, as the case is recently transferred from GDI to the Ministry of Interior’s Criminal Offense Division, even though he should have been released by now.
So far, only one justification has been given, but there were widespread reactions to his arrest, nothing else is clear, even on both Eids, he was not allowed to visit his family by phone or face to face. He was dumb and ignored that all his rights were violated.
The only thing that the intelligence agency wrote later was to call it a crime and justify it.He was not given the right to speak or to defend himself. Mr. Wesa neither had any political aim nor was a member of any political group, but he is treated so unfairly and without justice?
1_ The Constitution requires him to have all the basic rights
2_ His case should be examined in the light of all Islamic and international laws
3_ Information about his health and condition should be provided.
4_ Why was he kept in unknown places for a long time? There should be an explanation for this!
Pen Path wants basic rights for every citizen of the country and calls on the leaders of the Islamic Emirate to prevent all injustices and responsibly perform God’s will to protect the poor children of their Muslim and oppressed nation. For the past fourteen years. He is working with his team on a voluntary basis for education. We hope that all prisoners will be released as soon as possible those who are in prison with uncertainty.
With Regards,
Pen Path
