Amnesty International (AI) says nearly 355,000 people have signed a letter calling on the caretaker Afghan government to respect and protect human rights in Afghanistan.
AI wrote on its X handle: “Afghanistan: In a powerful show of global solidarity, 354,847 signatures have been collected calling on the Taliban de-facto authorities to respect and protect human rights in Afghanistan.”
It said: “As the catastrophic human rights situation persists, we must continue our joint demand for accountability and justice in Afghanistan.”
Meanwhile, the caretaker government in Kabul is yet comment on the AI report, but it has previously said no one’s rights had been violated in Afghanistan.
Earlier, Taliban chief spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said countries or circles influenced by Western culture believed Afghanistan should have laws like them.
