A delegation, headed Da Afghanistan Bank (DAB) president, has attended the 22nd annual meeting of the Islamic Financial Services Board (IFSB) Djibouti.
IFSB is an international institution that adopts and disseminates the standards to improve the soundness and stability of the Islamic financial services industry.
Da Afghanistan Bank, central banks of Islamic countries, Islamic banks, and international institutions are members of the IFSB.
The annual meeting of the board was held on July 1 and 2, DAB said in a statement.
It said the Afghan delegation led-by acting DAB head Hidayatullah Badri and chiefs of central banks of 26 Islamic countries participated in the two-day meeting.
The previous year’s executions and reports of the board were approved by the member countries.
Standards of Islamic banking based in framework of Islamic Sharia, better management of Islamic firms and banks, the effect of digitalization on Islamic banking and promotion of Islamic banking to global level plans and measures for upcoming year also came up for discussion, the statement explained.
Badri met IFSB chairman on frozen assets of DAB, Islamicization of Afghanistan’s banking sector, education programs and some other issues on the sidelines of the meeting.
