The European Union and Qatari special envoy for Afghanistan have held discussions on the situation in the South Asian country.
At a meeting in Doha on Wednesday, Tomas Niklasson and Faisal bin Abdullah Al Hanzab conferred on developments in Afghanistan.
A statement from the Qatari Foreign Ministry said the two sides also discussed joint international efforts to achieve peace and stability in Afghanistan.
Also on Wednesday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs organised a conference on the caretaker government’s stance at the upcoming UN-convened meeting in Doha.
Zakir Jalali, director of the third political department of the Foreign Ministry, called the third Doha meeting on Afghanistan as beneficial.
Scheduled for June 30 and July 1, the gathering would yield positive outcomes for Afghanistan, participants hoped, urging the UN to share details with Kabul.
