Renowned Afghan physician Mohammad Ismail Wardak has won the best orthopedic award in America, which will be conferred on him in October 2023 by a charity foundation during a series of ceremonies.
The VOA quoted officials of this association as saying the award is given to Dr. Ismail Wardak for his successful orthopedic surgeries in Afghanistan and good advice to his colleagues in Afghanistan and all over the world.
Jane Dillner, deputy director of Sign Fracture Care International, said that many doctors were nominated for the award that went to Dr. Wardak because he gave more guidance than other coaches.
Dr. Louis Zerkel, the founder of ISFC said, Dr. Wardak invented useful tools for treating the bones and this Afghan Doctor is the best teacher and best surgeon.
The report quoted Dr. Ismail as saying that he implemented about 20 programs related to SIGN charity in Afghanistan.
Sign ISFC has programs in 57 countries of the world but its activities in Afghanistan were more successful than other countries, Wardak added.
According to him, they performed 15,000 successful bone operations in Afghanistan in past few years with cooperation with ISFC.
Dr. Ismail Wardek invented a medical device for the treatment of knee and ankle fracture several years ago which is now accepted worldwide.
