The World Food Programme (WFP) says three million children suffer from malnutrition in Afghanistan currently and it could support one in three malnourished Children across the country.

On its X social media handle the WFP said: “Children bear the brunt of the assistance cuts, Sustained funding is vital. But we can only support 1 in every 3 malnourished children across #Afghanistan.”

This comes that earlier Acting Minister of Foreign Amir Khan Muttaqi said the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) does not want Afghans to rely for a long time on foreign humanitarian aid.

The minister also underlined the caretaker government’s plan to implement major projects to help Afghanistan stand on its own feet.
