Afghanistan have edged past Bahrain by 3-2 in their last group encounter, securing a spot in the quarterfinals at the National Sports Development Fund (NSDF) Futsal Championship in Thailand.
Farzad Mahmudi, Akbar Kazmi and Mehran Gholami scored one goal each for Afghanistan in Monday’s match to help their side advance.
The national squad will take on Tajikistan in the quarterfinal in their next game.
Futsal teams from Afghanistan, Iran, Kuwait and Bahrain are participating in the event. Earlier, Afghanistan had lost to Iran, but drew with Kuwait.
