Taliban has warned Pakistan’s deadly airstrikes in southeastern Khost and Paktika provinces will have consequences that the neighbour will be unable to control.
Zabihullah Mujahid, chief spokesman for Taliban, wrote on X that Pakistan planes bombed the houses of ordinary people in the Barmal district of Khost and Spera district of Paktika.
The airstrikes had killed three women and as many children in Paktika and two women in Khost, Mujahid claimed, saying two houses were also destroyed.
Taliban spokesman added: “A man named Abdullah Shah, whom Pakistan claims to have been targeted in the airstrike, is in the neighbouring country. There is a tribe whose members are living on both sides of the Durand Line and travel daily to meet their relatives.”
Mujahid said IEA strongly condemned the attacks as a reckless action and a violation of Afghanistan’s sovereignty. IEA, having a long history of fighting for freedom against superpowers, had never allowed anyone to invade its territory.
“Pakistani people and the new civilian government should not allow their army generals to continue with their flawed policies of the last 20 years for the benefits of others as such irresponsible actions spoil relations between the two Muslim countries.”
Mujahid asked Pakistan to avoid blaming Afghanistan for its inability to control incidents on its soil; because such incidents can have consequences, which Pakistan will not be able to control,” he argued.
According to him, the interim government does not allow anyone to harm the security of a third country by using Afghanistan’s soil.
