Pakistan’s State Minister for finance Ayesha Ghaus Pasha has said that International Monetary Fund (IMF) has lost trust in Pakistan and to restore the lost trust the government was trying to implement every condition of IMF on priority basis.
Briefing the Pakistani upper house committee for finance, Ms. Pasha seemed quite optimist regarding getting financial aid from friendly countries and said that soon progress will be made in this regard, while apprising the senate standing committee for finance
She said, the IMF is consulting friendly states individually, the negotiations with IMF are like never before and we have to mend our ways. The implementation procedures of petrol subsidy scheme are not completed yet and the scheme is still incomplete. It will be pertinent to mention that recently IMF has raised concerns on the petrol scheme.
The minister expanded by saying, the amount of reforms made in gas and power sector in last ten years are un-precedent. The country is passing through testing times.
