At least 11 members of a family have been found dead in a house in Pakistan’s northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, media reports said on Thursday.
A police official told Dawn that the deceased, including two brothers, their two wives and six children, appeared to have been poisoned and tortured to death two or three days ago.
He said police shifted the bodies from the Takhti Khel area of Lakki Marwat district to hospital for postmortem to ascertain the actual cause of death.
According to police statements, the discovery was made by the brother of the deceased household’s head upon his return home.
Police officials claimed that the relative of the victim family had allegedly bought food from Waziristan two days ago.
A local police team arrived at the scene and cordoned off the area to collect evidence related to the case.
