India defeated Afghanistan by an innings and 300 runs in the one-off Test match in Chandigarh.

The match, which began on June 6, saw India, having won the toss, bat first and post a commanding total of 564 runs in their first innings.

India’s spin trio capitalised on poor shot selection from Afghanistan, leaving the visitors staring at an innings defeat on the third day.

Afghanistan was dismissed for 152 in their first innings, with debutant Manav Suthar taking 6 wickets for 33 runs.

Following the enforcement of the follow-on, Afghanistan managed only 112 runs in their second innings, failing to make up the remaining 412-run deficit. India secured a comprehensive victory by an innings and 300 runs.

It is worth noting that following the Test match, Afghanistan and India will face off in a three-match One Day International (ODI) series from June 13 to 20.
