The United States has approved a potential sale of counter-unmanned aerial systems and related equipment to Kuwait under a foreign military sales deal valued at an estimated 1.98 billion US dollars.
According to Middle East Eye, the US State Department has given the go-ahead to the potential sale of counter-drone systems and associated equipment to Kuwait as part of a foreign military sales package worth approximately $1.98bn.
In a statement, the department said the proposed sale would support US foreign policy and national security objectives by strengthening the security of Kuwait, which it described as a major non-NATO ally in the Middle East.
The package is intended to enhance Kuwait’s ability to counter drone threats and strengthen its defence capabilities in the region.
