The German Embassy in Pakistan has announced the launch of a new online system for Afghan applicants seeking work and study visas, aiming to make the process faster and more efficient.
In a statement published on its Facebook page, the German Embassy in Islamabad said that starting from June 1 of this year, applicants will be able to submit their visa applications and upload required documents online through the Consular Services Portal of the German Federal Foreign Office.
According to the statement, from that date onward, all work and study visa applications will be processed exclusively through this online system. The previous appointment-based system will no longer be available for applicants who have not secured a slot from the waiting list by May 1.
The embassy emphasized that the new system will make the application process more efficient, faster, and transparent.
“You can upload your documents easily and securely in stages. We will provide online feedback regarding completeness and correctness. Once your documents are fully submitted, you can independently book an interview appointment based on visa availability in Pakistan,” the statement said.
It was also noted that complete applications submitted from the beginning will be prioritized and processed more quickly, allowing applicants to reach the interview stage in a shorter time.
According to the information provided, the visas currently available through this system include the EU Blue Card, work visas for university graduates, visas for skilled workers with vocational training, experience-based programs, job seeker visas, opportunity cards, as well as student and vocational training visas.
