Four children have been killed in an explosion caused by an old landmine in southern Ghazni province.
The provincial Police Headquarters said the incident occurred on Friday in Ali Khankhel village. Initially, two children were reported killed and two others injured.
However, Mullah Hamidullah Nisar, head of the Information and Culture Department, told Pajhwok Afghan News on Saturday that the two injured children had also died, raising the death toll to four.
Security forces have urged residents to avoid approaching unexploded ordnance.
