More than 400 Afghan refugees returned to the country this week after being released from prisons in neighboring Pakistan, the Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation said on Wednesday.
In a statement, the ministry, citing a report from the Transfer Department in Spin Boldak district of Kandahar province, said around 426 individuals had been detained for periods ranging from one day to two months.
The statement added that, after registration with the department and receiving support from partner organizations, the returnees were transported to their respective home districts.
