Four members of a family, including women and children, were martyred and three others injured in Pakistani artillery and mortar strikes on the Alisher-Terezi district of southeastern Khost province on Thursday, an official said.
Mullah Hamdullah Fitrat, deputy spokesman for Taliban, wrote on his X account that the attacks occurred at around 4:00am on Thursday in the Badraga Gorgari area of Sadqo village in the district.
He said four civilians, including women and children, were martyred and three others wounded as a result of the shelling.
Fitrat also said the Pakistani military fired 221 artillery and mortar rounds at the districts of Manogai, Sarkano, Nari and Khas Kunar in neighbouring Kunar province.
He added that the shelling in those areas did not cause casualties but resulted in heavy financial losses for local residents.
