At least 15 people, including women and children, have been killed and three others injured in a traffic accident in northeastern Badakhshan province, an official said on Sunday.
Police spokesman Ehsanullah Kamgar told Pajhwok Afghan News that the accident occurred when a van veered off the road and overturned in the Sandara area of Arghanjkhwa district on Saturday.
He said 15 people, including six children and five women, were killed, and three others were injured in the accident.
The injured were evacuated to the provincial hospital, where they are reported to be in stable condition.
