The National Disaster Preparedness Authority (NDPA) has reported that recent rainfall has claimed the lives of five people and injured three others across four provinces of Afghanistan.
The authority’s Director of Information and Public Awareness and spokesperson, Hafiz Mohammad Yousuf Hamad, said the incidents occurred in Farah, Herat, Ghor, and Nuristan.
He added that the heavy rainfall led to the deaths of five people, injuries to three others, and the complete or partial destruction of ten houses.
Hamad further noted that the NDPA’s provincial offices have provided emergency assistance to the affected families.
